About me

Hi! I’m Abbie Smith, a portrait photographer working throughout Virginia (currently) and the Loire Valley, France (starting summer 2026). I photograph couples and families, offering relaxed sessions in historic and natural settings. With a background in art history and years of experience working with people, I focus on creating photographs that feel natural, thoughtful, and true to the experience of being there.

Little moments at home.❤️ I have loved working with returning clients, seeing the children grow from babies to toddlers, crawling to standing. It’s unreal how quickly time passes.
Golden light = the best light. Golden light/golden hour is that first hour'ish light around sunrise and sunset. It's the time where the sun is low on the horizon, shadows are long (look at those tree shadows!) and surrounding light is warm with tint
